old nonprofit working on the front lines of San Francisco's
homeless crisis. We provide families experiencing or at risk of
homelessness with comprehensive support to address immediate needs

permanent supportive housing program designed to provide stable
homes for 120 previously homeless single adults and 37 families
with children. The program operates through a partnership with
three key organizations: Delivering Innovation in Supportive
Housing (DISH) for property management, UCSF Citywide Case
Management for support services for single adults, and Compass
Family Services for family support and children's programming. In
collaboration with the Department of Homelessness and Supportive
Housing (HSH), The Margot aims to build a healthy, inclusive, and
thriving community by offering a comprehensive range of support
services tailored to the needs of all residents.Salary: $83,000 -

ResourcefulPosition Description:
The Program Director supervises a Bilingual Case Manager and a
Bilingual Children's Activity Coordinator, overseeing supportive
services for 37 families in the Permanent Supportive Housing
program. In addition to leadership responsibilities, the Program
Director supports a small caseload of families to stay connected to
direct service delivery. Approximately 75% of the role focuses on
leadership, supervision, program coordination, and administrative
duties, while 25% is dedicated to direct case management.This role
also serves as the primary Compass liaison for the program,
coordinating closely with partners at DISH and Citywide, and
staying connected to Compass' broader network of programs to ensure
alignment, collaboration, and continuity of care.Program Management
& Coordination (75%):
- Oversee implementation of all contractual requirements related
to family support and children's programming, including
coordinating and participating in program audits and annual
reporting.
- Serve as the primary liaison with DISH and Citywide partners;
participate in weekly clinical meetings and monthly operations
meetings to ensure coordinated service delivery.
- Collaborate with the Department of Homelessness and Supportive
Housing (HSH) on move-ins, transfers, and complex client
situations.
- Attend Compass management team meetings, regular supervision,
and PSH Provider Meetings with HSH and other supportive housing
organizations.
- Provide supervision and ongoing support to the Compass Family
Services team at The Margot, including crisis intervention,
de-escalation assistance, and informed, appropriate referrals to
internal and external services.
- Facilitate weekly staff meetings, 1:1 supervision, and group
supervision.
- Complete monthly board reports and work collaboratively with
the Finance team to manage the program budget.
- Monitor program data quality in partnership with the Impact +
Learning team, using data to inform program goals and drive
continuous improvement.
- Hire, onboard, and train new staff; complete annual performance
evaluations and support ongoing staff development.Direct Client
Support (25%):
- Welcome and orient new families to the community and develop
positive relationships that foster connection, support, and
trust.
- Partner with families to develop short and long-range
stability, self-sufficiency and well-being goals.
- Provide referrals for individual and family therapy, crisis
intervention, and appropriate services offered both within Compass
and externally.
- Collaborate with partner organizations to plan and facilitate
onsite events and activities that build community, enhance resident
engagement, and support family well-being.
- Respond to concerns about resident families from Compass
colleagues, DISH, and Citywide, including threats to tenancy.
- Perform monthly unit inspections in partnership with property
management.
- Coordinate case conferences with property management and
families who exhibit behaviors that put them at risk for
eviction.
- Provide relocation support and develop individualized exit
plans for families transitioning out of the program.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in both the Compass
Salesforce database and the ONE System, including case notes,
assessments, and service plans.Qualifications:
- Fluency in Spanish required
- Minimum of two years of experience in program management and
staff supervision, preferably within permanent supportive housing,
affordable housing, or related social services programs.
- Direct experience in social services, including counseling,
crisis intervention, and case management.
- Proven ability to assess and de-escalate potentially volatile
situations with professionalism and empathy.
- Understanding of the Housing First model, harm reduction, and
trauma-informed care.
- Familiarity with the unique challenges faced by homeless
families.
- Knowledge of Bay Area housing and social service
resources.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and
belonging (DEIB) in both practice and leadership.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel);
experience with Salesforce or other case management systems is a
plus.Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary range: $83,000 - 88,000 per year.
- Paid time off: 4 weeks of vacation in your first year, 5 in
your second. Also paid holidays, sick time, family leave, and time
off for education.
- Insurance: health, dental and vision insurance are fully
covered by Compass for employees and dependent children. We also
provide long term disability and life insurance.
- Retirement: after one year of work, Compass contributes an
amount equal to 5% of your salary into a retirement account; this
