We are an early-stage start-up working on simple, delightful solutions that make a real difference in one of the worst contributing industries: waste.Why is there so much garbage and why is the status quo for it to end up in the landfill or ocean? What if waste could be prevented by first being turned into something useful and delightful?Chewie Labs is a soon-to-be launched climate tech start-up focused on eliminating waste, which results in -5% of global carbon emissions and daily+ pain points in the home.Chewie's culture is rooted in science, creativity, and taking itself less seriously than the problem. It is a new type of company where sustainability isn't just the side dish-it's the main meal.What you'll do

  • Own aspects of the production-intent electrical design from concept to production.
  • Create schematics, design PCB layout and work with PCB fabricate vendors to build PCBA .
  • Validate and debug circuits and firmware
  • Work closely with manufacturing partners & vendors for factory test and components solutions
  • Analyze data to help implement process control and sensing algorithms
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, firmware, operations, science, and product teamsWhat you'll need:
    • B.S. or M.S. degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or mechatronics.
    • Experience working with microcontrollers, ADCs, Op-amp and sensors.
    • Proficient with at least one PCB design software, for example: Altium, Allegro(Cadence) or similar.
    • Proficient with common lab equipment: Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, multimeters, soldering iron and etc.Bonus Experience:
      • Python, C/C++, Arduino programming
      • Working with AC power
      • Working with motors and motor drivers (AC motors, BDC, or BLDC)
      • Experience creating prototypes using Arduinos, Raspberry Pis and off-the-shelf sensors and actuators
