Position Summary...

What you'll do...

Develops the short-term (for example, seasonal) and long-term (for example, annual) site merchandising strategy for a department to achieve key business and financial objectives (for example, customer value index, conversion, gross merchandise value, contribution profit). Translates the assortment strategy into site strategy and experiences through partnerships with Omni Merchants. Develops a holistic view of the department customer experience by evaluating site and consumer data to understand customer behavior, buying patterns, and trends. Positions the department to increase market share by creating compelling experiences that highlight our Walmart's products and ensure customers can locate merchandise. Drives increased site visits, repeat purchases, and customer loyalty. Supports the definition of the department strategic vision to achieve positive customer experiences. Tracks and improves product engagement, conversion, and sales through data analysis. Drives enhancements to site functionality, navigation, and visual merchandising presentation within departments. Defines department content best practices and governance. Understands and identifies complex data sets related to site experience.

Provides strategic advice and guidance to Omni Merchants regarding online presence for a category. Recommends site enhancements based on industry and organizational knowledge and best practices. Continually assesses and modifies the strategic direction of the visual presentation to drive the long-term achievement of sales and margins. Defines and leads the use of images and basic and enhanced content. Leads efforts to ensure accuracy and coverage. Specifies the use of product attributes and attribute values and ensures alignment to established proper taxonomy and attribution. Defines and leads plans for the presentation of products within a SBU. Interprets and communicates complex data sets to relevant stakeholders to drive understanding and optimize the department, category, campaign, or brand presentation.

Oversees the development of site performance metrics and directs the analysis of results based on knowledge of customer and decision trees. Track Key Performance Indicators and success metrics to interpret complex data and provide strategic insights to stakeholders. Provides guidance and strategic direction regarding tracking and performance monitoring based on broad industry and organizational knowledge. Understands and identifies complex data sets to be analyzed and informs and drives the site merchandising strategy.

Defines and leads best practices for Search Engine Optimization for an assigned department. Defines facet, pinning, and navigation strategy across search and browse. Provides feedback to Merchants on the management of Item Pages. Defines linking strategy activities and provides feedback for improvement. Establishes category page update strategy cadence. Collaborates across categories to identify presentation programs that link product categories and drive cross-selling.

Drives the site experience strategy for brands and strategic partners. Leads and influences alignment to the site strategy and execution for brand marketing priorities. Leads alignment and provides recommendations on best practices related to wireframe, email linkage, asset brand page design, layout, and content standards.

Works collaboratively with marketing and editorial on campaign strategy, planning, and execution. Provides insights to Merchant partners on historical campaign performance and customer behavior to influence future campaign strategy. Executes campaign activities within agreed timeframes at the agreed levels of quality and provides feedback and insights on campaign effectiveness. Executes department campaign experience (for example, content, unpaid traffic plan, navigation, merchandising strategy, product placement).

Drives the department content strategy and planning calendar in partnership with Marketing based on Merchant partner input and key priorities (for example, tiers, budgets, assets, creative resources). Defines key trends, stories, and curated content for an assigned area. Prioritizes department content placement in collaboration with Marketing for all stories to maximize sales and drive demand across all digital platforms. Leads editorial content and the brand messaging strategy across all platforms. Prioritizes all new vendor and product launches, special collaborations, and key initiatives across an assigned area. Oversees concepting and leads the strategy for editorial content, including content briefs and creative reviews for site pages, emails, social media posts, gift guides, and special projects. Monitors department page content, linking, and corresponding product arrays.

Supports and executes omni-channel Merchandising processes. Provides recommendations on customer experience improvements across all customer touchpoints. Advises and leads suppliers and vendors in the development of customer-focused processes and products. Anticipates customer trends, influences customer demand through a deep understanding of customer requirements, and demonstrates a depth of department knowledge.

Defines User Generated Content (UGC) strategy for an assigned area. Measures the impact of the UGC strategy and communicates findings to leadership.

Executes new product launches and ensures partners have appropriate support and resources for successful product launches. Defines the new product launch strategy for an assigned area and ensures optimal product placement. Leads project activities to meet launch expectations and deadlines. Reviews and analyzes execution to provide correction of error analysis for future launches.

Leads the continuous improvement of item page style guides, aligns style guides to customer shopping trends, communicates standards to the Item Setup team, and provides guidance on elevated and exclusive brands and strategic partnerships. Assists with managing content quality and attribution. Partners with the Business Operations team on the development and execution of enriched content.

Advises and partners with Merchants on the development of the Site Merchandising strategy and experience for an assigned area. Identifies process improvement opportunities, best practices, and governance to enhance stakeholder partnerships and process efficiency. Collaborates across categories to identify and drive presentation programs that link product categories and drive cross-selling.

Leverages data to make real time decisions, anticipates business questions, drives hypothesis formulation, guides testing,; and builds a data-driven culture. Uses visualization tools to represent data and construct coherent stories to influence decisions.

Coaches team members and provides feedback to enhance skills, knowledge, and work performance. Conducts performance and career development conversations. Explores ways to increase team engagement. Mentors less-experienced Site Merchandising associates.

Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales.

Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.

Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.
