Walmart Connect (WMC) is building a robust in-house advertising business that’s key to Walmart’s growth strategy. We partner with top global and national retail brands on media strategies and solutions that harness Walmart’s unparalleled scale and omnichannel presence.  Customer Insights and Analysis (CIA) team plays a critical role in bringing customer behavior insights and trends to inform media strategy and investment by leveraging massive 1P online and in-store data, encompassing 90% of American households. CIA team partners closely with WMC Sales and Marketing organization by delivering actionable customer and audience insights. 

In this role, you will lead a team of data analyst to develop solutions for complex, ambiguous, and high-visibility business questions.  If you are an analytics leader with passion for customer insights, omnichannel data, and retail industry, this is your next dream job!


  • Lead WMC client engagement on customer and audience insights business questions in partnership with Sales and/ or Marketing team for strategic partner accounts
  • Responsible for end-to-end analytics lifecycle from gaining alignment on learning agenda with clients to final delivery and presentation of key learning and strategic recommendations
  • Guide analytics framework discussions with team members, review outputs identify insistencies, extract key insights, translate into strategic recommendations and next steps
  • Perform cluster, survival analysis, profiling and segmentation, custom audience creation, A/B and multivariate test design, customer lifetime value, marketing attribution, campaign measurement, funnel analysis, path to purchase, customer journey and loyalty drivers
  • Build analytics narratives by connecting the dots across category level macro trends and brand specific trends to explain the drivers of trends and recommend actionable next steps
  • Excited to ideate and lead proof of concept analytics projects to test out innovative approaches and frameworks and seize the opportunity to take ideas into paying premium product offering
  • Identify gaps and opportunities for improving existing data sources and engage with broader Walmart teams to acquire and these sources within the Walmart Connect environment.
  • Own and lead CIA innovation initiatives such as Path to Conversion and Case studies to expand and extend the boundaries of advanced analytics value for our internal and external stakeholders.
  • Effectively lead and grow team members with intent and care for individual success.
  • Live and breathe CIA vision and mission and committed to bring meaningful connections between client suppliers (retailers) and Walmart shoppers through relevant, timely and actionable customer and audience insights.

Manager’s Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Operations research, Marketing analytics or any related quantitative field AND 5+ years of experience in analytics, consulting, retail, media, and relevant Industry
  • Strong programming skills in R/Python and hands-on knowledge of SQL in Hive/Hadoop/Google Cloud Platform environments (must have hands on data analytics experience)
  • Familiarity with Ad servers, DSPs, DMPs, onsite & offsite targeting, identity graphs a plus
  • Experience with customer segmentation, profiling, cluster analysis techniques, inferential statistics, data mining techniques and regression modeling
  • Highly proficient in developing ppt decks and presenting strategic, action-oriented recommendations from complex analytics
  • Trust based, strong relationship builder with internal and external partners
  • Strong people leader with thought leadership, team development and growth

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or related field and 4 years' experience in data analytics or related field OR 6 years'
experience in data analytics or related field.
