Technical Operations BioMarin’s Technical Operations group is
responsible for creating our drugs for use in clinical trials and
for scaling production of those drugs for the commercial market.
These engineers, technicians, scientists and support staff build
and maintain BioMarin’s cutting-edge manufacturing processes and
sites, provide quality assurance and quality control to ensure we
meet regulatory standards, and procure the needed goods and
services to support manufacturing and coordinating the worldwide
movement of our drugs to patients. Associate Director, Regional
Logistics Leader Hybrid: Requiring 2-4 days onsite in San Rafael,
CA Summary Description: The Regional Logistics Leader is a key role
as part of the Global Distribution organization. This position will
have responsibilities across the clinical, commercial, and
development science areas related to distribution and order
fulfillment activities of BioMarin products. The Hub Leader is
responsible for overseeing and managing the operations of a
regional logistics hub. This role involves ensuring efficient and
effective distribution and logistics operations, including
warehousing, transportation, and distribution. The ideal candidate
will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of
logistics processes, and the ability to drive continuous
improvement initiatives Note that individual responsibilities may
include all or part of responsibilities defined below depending on
individual experience and abilities and may change to best support
on-going business needs. Responsibilities: Operational Management:
Oversee daily operations of the logistics hub, ensuring timely and
accurate processing of orders, shipments, and deliveries. Team
Leadership : Lead, mentor, and develop a team of distribution and
logistics professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and
continuous improvement. Designing and managing the distribution
model to support the customer and commercial requirements 3rd Party
Management (3PL, LSP, TSP). Oversee performance and compliance of
3PL partners Relationship management of 3PL providers to ensure
adherence to SLAs, KPIs, and contractual terms Overseeing the
Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP) activities for the
distribution network in the region. Performance Monitoring: Track
and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational
efficiency and effectiveness. Budget Management: Develop and manage
the hub's budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while
maintaining high service levels. Compliance : Ensure compliance
with all relevant regulations, including Good Distribution
Practices (GDP), health and safety standards, and company policies.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to
enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal and external
stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, other distribution
hubs and central functions, to optimize the supply chain.
Technology Utilization : Leverage logistics technology and systems
to streamline operations and improve data accuracy. Change
Leadership : As a member of the Global Distribution Leadership team
support and drive the change management requirements through
communication internally and externally, developing the vision for
the hub team and the broader Distribution organisation and
empowering the hub team members to make effective decisions. Scope:
This role is responsible for supporting the efficient movement of
lifesaving therapies incompliance with applicable regulations.
Decisions made in this role are of critical nature inmitigating
risks for the business while ensuring BioMarin’s commercial
products are delivered topatients in a timely and compliant
manner.The candidate should demonstrate the following attributes: A

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business
Administration, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus. In
lieu of above, other undergraduate degree plus continuing education
in the logistics or extended supply chain management field required
Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred, ideally to green-belt level
Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in logistics or supply
chain management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Strong leadership and team management skills, excellent
communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency in logistics
software and systems, and a solid understanding of logistics and
supply chain principles. Detail-oriented, analytical thinker,
problem-solver, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Cold
Chain experience highly desirable Proven ability to lead change
initiatives and drive improvements within and across functions
which enable compliance and mitigate risk Ability to effectively
work autonomously and independently Understanding of MS PowerBI,
SAP, or like technologies Contacts: Commercial, Site Operations,
Clinical Operations, Worldwide Research & DevelopmentScientists,
