Job Description Job Description Senior Trial Attorney Join a Mission-Driven Litigation Team in Oakland, CA A respected law firm based in Oakland is seeking a Senior Trial Attorney with 10 years of litigation experience to join its collaborative and purpose-driven team. With a focus on real estate, affordable housing, land use, and public agency law, this firm offers a unique opportunity to work on impactful cases that shape communities. Position Overview This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned litigator to take the lead on complex matters involving public agencies and mission-driven organizations. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in all phases of litigation, including law and motion, discovery, and trial. A background in land use, affordable housing law, CEQA, HUD regulations, public contracts, or municipal governance is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities - Manage litigation matters from inception through resolution, including trial. - Handle law and motion practice, oral arguments, and discovery. - Collaborate with attorneys across practice areas, including real estate, land use, and public law. - Represent public agencies and mission-driven clients in a variety of complex disputes. - Contribute to a team-oriented, mission-driven legal environment. Qualifications - Juris Doctor from an accredited law school with a strong academic record. - Active California Bar license with at least 10 years of litigation experience. - Significant experience in pretrial litigation, including law and motion and oral argument. - Trial experience and the ability to manage cases independently. - Excellent legal writing, research, and communication skills. - Strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively. Preferred Experience - Direct experience with public agency clients. - Familiarity with CEQA, HUD regulations, public contracts, or municipal governance. - Background in affordable housing law or land use litigation. - Labor and employment law. - Petitions for writ of mandate and appellate work. Location & Schedule - Hybrid role based in Oakland, CA (must live within commuting distance). - In-office presence preferred two days per week, with flexibility. Interested?
