Software Engineer (Staff Engineer, Supply Platform) Company: LMI, Inc. d/b/a Liftoff Location: Redwood City, CA Position Type: Full Time Experience: 7 years exp Education: Bachelor's Design, engineer & implement highly-available, fault-tolerant, distributed systems enhancing our real-time exchange system. Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, product and infra engineers to understand, refine, and prioritize requirements for machine learning models. Take ownership and work with various product management, development and quality assurance groups in a fast-paced environment. Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance that have particular impact across your team and others, focusing on performance, testing, documentation, continuous integration. Mentor and share knowledge with team members. Confidently ship large features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members. Collaborate with the team on larger projects. Drive innovation on the team with a willingness to experiment and to boldly confront problems of immense complexity and scope. Participate on-call rotation. Design system, write code and provide code reviews, and deliver with speediness and quality. Help drive SSP service architecture, performance and scalability. Work with product management and other engineering teams to design, build and operate Supply Team next generation products, including AdExchange/HeaderBiddingParticipation products within Agile framework. Understand the platform needs of other functional areas and provide design and development guidance as required. Provide thought leadership in SSP transition to a micro-service and cloud-based architecture. Use strong communication skills (written and verbal) to work collaboratively with engineers in Beijing and overseas to create next generation AdTech systems. Design, engineer, and implement highly available, fault-tolerant, distributed systems to enhance real-time exchange system. Work closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Product and Indra Engineers to understand, refine, and prioritize requirements for machine learning models. Take ownership and work with various product management, development, and quality assurance groups in a fast-paced environment. Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance. Perform performance, testing, documentation, and continuous integration. Telecommuting is permitted. Employee may request to work from any city & county in the following states: CA, CO, ID, IL, GA, MA, MO, MN, NJ, NV, NY, OR, RI, TX, UT, WA. Salary: $206,315 - $276,000 per year. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, plus 7 years of professional experience as Software Engineer, Software Development Engineer, or any position/occupation/job title involving designing, building, and operating Supply products. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of experience, the employer will accept a Master's degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field, plus 5 years of professional experience as Software Engineer, Software Development Engineer, or any position/occupation/job title involving designing, building, and operating Supply products. Must also have experience in the following: 5 years of professional experience performing software programming (clean, efficient, and scalable) using Golang, Java, or Python; 3 years of professional experience designing and implementing highly scalable and distributed systems and utilizing system architecture principles; 3 years of professional experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases, as well as message queuing (MQ) technologies; 3 years of professional experience with database design, optimization, and management to support large-scale applications; 3 years of professional experience working within a highly agile and intensely iterative software development process, and with the principles of agile development, including continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD); 2 years of professional experience utilizing cloud computing platforms, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP); and 2 years of professional experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (including engineering, product management, and design, to deliver high-quality software solutions).
