Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A Registered Nurse with Operating Room and cardiac experience is sought for a contract position in Newark, NJ. This role involves working 8-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with an essential requirement to participate in on-call duties. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative setting for patients ranging from neonates to older adults. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR staff to ensure coordinated and quality patient care. Supervise OR technicians and assist in maintaining a safe and organized operating room environment. Comply with hospital policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements. Participate actively in performance improvement initiatives, unit meetings, and educational in-services. Respond promptly (within 30 minutes) when called in during on-call periods. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Current and valid Registered Nurse License for the state. Certifications including BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and PALS (AHA), with ACLS and PALS to be obtained within 30 days of hire if not already current. Minimum of one year previous perioperative experience or equivalent on-the-job training. Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification preferred. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Experience in preoperative and postoperative care. Ability to take call as required: minimum once per week on weekdays (11 PM to 7 AM) and once every fifth weekend, with maximum of two calls per week. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, 8-hour shifts. On-call responsibilities requiring availability by personal cell phone from home.
