Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PACU Duration: 13
weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 10:00 - 20:30; 10:30 -
21:00 Experience: Minimum 2 years recent clinical experience in
critical care or PACU in an acute care setting. License: Current
California Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
Must-Have: - Epic charting experience - Minimum 2 years' experience
with airway management - Experience with central lines and
post-procedure care in a critical care/PACU environment
Description: Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of the nursing process
in addressing physical, psychosocial, and psychological needs of
patients. Provides competent care to patients with a variety of
diagnoses including cardiovascular, pulmonary, gastrointestinal,
neurological, renal, and endocrine diseases, sepsis, carcinoma, and
pre- and post-operative surgical patients, including pediatric
patients. Must recognize life-threatening conditions and intervene
appropriately. Identifies patients at risk for injury and skin
breakdown, providing patient education and discharge instructions
utilizing the electronic health record. Responsible for developing,
implementing, and coordinating an interdisciplinary plan of patient
and family care. Manages care either fully or through delegation
and direction of other nursing team members. Anticipates and
recognizes potential problems, intervening appropriately by
notifying and updating the Charge Nurse, Physician, and other
nursing staff as needed. Provides individualized nursing care
through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the
bio-physical and psychosocial needs of patients. Demonstrates
leadership by managing care through others while using infection
control principles, patient rights, and standards of practice.
Interprets standards of practice for other staff, including legal
implications. Demonstrates knowledge of unit-specific age criteria
for patient populations. Exhibits critical thinking skills.
Completes all unit-specific orientation and competencies in a
timely manner. Ability to read, write, hear, and verbally
communicate in English to the degree required to perform the job.
Must be able to travel in accordance with job requirements. Access
to protected health information will be limited to information
