As a trusted technical expert, you will actively contribute to the scalability, security, and performance optimization of the company's network infrastructure, ensuring seamless transitions between local and cloud resources.



Key Responsibilities

Cloud Network Architecture:

Design, implement, and manage highly available network solutions on AWS, leveraging advanced knowledge of VPCs, Direct Connect, Transit Gateways, and other cloud networking services.Optimize hybrid and multi-cloud connectivity strategies while ensuring performance and cost-effectiveness.Support application deployment pipelines with secure and scalable network configurations.Network Security & Compliance:

Enforce security best practices, including firewall configurations, traffic management, and data encryption techniques.Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with industry standards, applying security controls across AWS environments.Proactively identify vulnerabilities and implement mitigation measures.On-Premises & Hybrid Network Engineering:

Manage and troubleshoot on-premises network components such as routers, switches, and firewalls to ensure reliable connectivity.Configure and troubleshoot hybrid cloud solutions, including site-to-site VPN tunnels between local and AWS environments.Drive the integration and migration of on-prem systems to cloud-based resources.Performance Monitoring & Optimization:

Use advanced monitoring tools to analyze key metrics, ensuring optimal network performance and uptime.Implement traffic prioritization strategies that improve bandwidth utilization and performance across environments.Document best practices, configurations, and workflows for long-term scalability.

Required Qualifications

Certifications: AWS Advanced Networking Specialty (ANS-C01) is mandatory.Experience:7+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering, including hybrid cloud environments.Proven expertise designing and managing scalable AWS architectures, including VPCs, Transit Gateways, Load Balancers, and DNS.Strong knowledge of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking concepts and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, etc.).Proficient in configuring and troubleshooting firewalls, VPNs, and cloud-native security solutions.Advanced understanding of network security principles, including encryption, monitoring, and intrusion detection.Strong ability to assess business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.

Preferred Skills

Familiarity with AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar IaC tools.Experience with monitoring tools like CloudWatch, SolarWinds, or Datadog for proactive performance management.Knowledge of SD-WAN technologies or Zero Trust Networking models.Background in implementing disaster recovery and backup solutions.Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Work Environment

This hybrid role strikes a balance between in-office teamwork and remote productivity. Candidates must reside locally in the Sacramento area and commit to 2 days onsite (progressing to 4 days in July). You will work alongside dynamic teams, pushing the limits of network engineering to support scalable and secure enterprise environments.
