Employment Type: Local Contract RCM Health Care is looking for full
or part time Speech Language Pathologists or Speech Language
Pathologist Assistants working with school students in person
during school hours. /n /nPrimary Purpose: /n /nPlan and provide
speech-language pathology services to students with speech, voice,
or language disorders. Assess students and provide therapeutic
intervention to eliminate or reduce problems or impairments that
interfere with their students’ ability to derive full benefit from
the educational program. /n /n /n Qualifications:
Education/Certification:/n /n/t - Master’ s degree in
speech-language pathology from an accredited college or
university/n/t - Valid California license as a speech-language
pathologist granted by the State Board of Examiners for
Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (SBESLPA)/n/t - Valid
driver's license with driving record that meets District
requirements/n /n /nSpecial Knowledge/Skills:/n/n /n/t - Ability to
use the accepted tests and measurements to assess communication
disorders and conditions/n/t - Knowledge of evaluation,
habilitation, and rehabilitation of speech-language disorders and
conditions/n/t - Ability to instruct and manage student
behavior/n/t - Excellent organizational, communication, and
interpersonal skills/n /n /n Major Responsibilities and Duties:/n/n
/n/t 1. Plan and provide appropriate individual and group therapy
to students consistent with speech and language goals contained in
Individual Education Plans (IEP)./n/t 2. Evaluate student progress
and determine readiness for termination of therapy services./n/t 3.
Conduct independent evaluations to assess students with speech or
language disorders and conditions to determine eligibility for
services./n/t 4. Develop clinical management strategies or
procedures and diagnostic statements by interpreting observations
or data./n/t 5. Participate in the Admission, Review, and Dismissal
(ARD) Committee to assist in interpretation of assessment data,
appropriate placement, and goal setting for students with
communication disorders or conditions according to district
procedures./n/t 6. Counsel and involve parents in remedial
process./n/t 7. Collaborate with classroom teachers to plan and
implement classroom activities to improve communication skills of
students./n/t 8. Provide professional development in assigned
schools to help school personnel identify and understand
communication deficits in students./n/t 9. Communicate effectively
with colleagues, students, and parents regarding the accomplishment
of therapy goals and needs of the student./n/t 10. Create an
environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the maturity
level and interests of students./n/t 11. Establish control and
administer discipline according to the Student Code of Conduct and
student handbook./n/t 12. May supervise licensed speech-language
pathology assistant(s) or speech aide(s).*/n/t 13. Develop and
coordinate a continuing evaluation of speech-language pathology
services and make changes based on the findings./n/t 14. Assist in
the selection of equipment and instructional materials./n/t 15.
Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports,
records, and other required documents./n/t 16. Comply with policies
established by federal and state laws, State Board of Education
rule, and board policy./n/t 17. Comply with all district and campus
routines and regulations./n/t 18. Participate in professional
development activities to improve skills related to job
assignment./n /n /n Supervisory Responsibilities: /n /n May direct
and monitor the work of speech-language pathology assistant(s) or
