Job Description:
The Assistant Superintendent supports on-site construction
activities, ensuring affordable housing projects are completed
safely, on schedule, and within budget. This role involves
coordinating subcontractors, maintaining daily reports, and
assisting with quality control and compliance with local building
and safety regulations. Client Details This East Bay-based general
contractor specializes in building affordable and supportive
housing across the San Francisco Bay Area. With over a century of
experience, they partner closely with public agencies and
non-profits to deliver community-focused residential projects for
low-income families, seniors, veterans, and special-needs
populations. Description 2-5 years of experience in construction,
preferably with affordable housing, multi-family, or mixed-use
residential projects. Proven experience assisting with field
supervision, scheduling, and coordination of subcontractors.
Familiarity with federal, state, and local building codes,
including affordable housing program compliance (e.g., HUD, LIHTC).
Understanding of construction safety protocols and OSHA
regulations. Profile Education & Certifications: High school
diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in
Construction Management or related field preferred. OSHA 30-hour
certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire). Valid driver's
license and reliable transportation to project sites. Additional
Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
Familiarity with affordable housing funding mechanisms and
compliance documentation (e.g., Section 3, Davis-Bacon). Job Offer
