Not ApplicablePosition SummaryThe Assistant Vice President reports
to the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President for
Administration. The incumbent is responsible for advising and
making recommendations to the Chief Financial Officer/Vice
President relative to overall University objectives, policies, and
plans wherever accounting, student and other financial activities,
supply chain and procurement matters are involved. The incumbent is
responsible for the effective operations of six distinct
departments (Accounting Services & Auxiliary Accounting; Accounts
Payable & Travel; Procurement &Contract Services; Bursar's
Office; Property & Receiving Services; Ticket Office), ensuring
stewardship, security, and compliance are at the forefront. The
Assistant Vice President serves as Assistant Chief Financial
Officer for the University and may serve as acting Vice President
in the absence of the Chief Financial Officer/Vice President.FLSA:
Exempt (Not eligible for overtime compensation)Anticipated Hiring
Range: $12,917 per month to $13,750 per month,commensurate with the
candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.CSU
Classification Salary Range:$6,891 per month- $22,119per monthWork
Hours: Monday-Friday; 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; weekends and evenings as

Services, the Bursar's Office, Property & Receiving Services, and

improvement.RequiredQualificationsEducation
- Bachelor's degree with a major in Business or closely related
field; or possession of additional qualifying experience may be
substituted for the required degree on a year for year
basis.Experience
- Five years of progressive experience as senior level financial manager in a large complex organization.
- Experience in researching, analyzing and recommending solutions to a range of complex issues.
- Experience as a fiscal agent within a large organization working in highly structured and complex systems in the areas of fund accounting, capital construction, budget principles and concepts, and financial report preparation where fiscal management methods and practices include federal, state, GAAP, GASB and FASB reporting requirements.
- Experience directing and supervising managers in the formulation of goals and objectives, organizing work and work flow, delegating authority, training, evaluating employees, and administering corrective action as appropriate.
- Experience with web-based applications of information system technology for financial and administrative services functions.
- Experience working with various consultative constituencies
such as executive groups, academic administration, budget advisory
group, and/or student majority committees.Knowledge, Skills,

- Demonstrates leadership in review, development, and implementation of policies and procedures for the university; plans, implements, manages, and evaluates a range of administrative procedures.
- Skilled in implementing continuous quality improvement and client involvement in assessing and changing services.
- Knowledge of accounting and budget technology systems including accounts payable, travel, general ledger, cashiering, and other operating systems in a not-for-profit environment.
- Knowledgeable of the methods of process improvement and streamlining of operations through redesign of business practices and performance measurement and progress assessment methods as applied to individuals, teams and organizations.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, and staff in the formation of program and policy while working effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Possess problem-solving abilities that result in prudent decisions to promote mutual satisfaction and positive action, and imaginative approaches to the achievement of individual, unit, or institutional strategic goals.
- Ability to mediate, negotiate and persuade others to positive actions and outcomes.
- Ability to adapt to an evolving and changing environment.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Commitment to maintaining a welcoming and inclusive work

- Master's or Doctoral Degree in Business Administration or closely related field.
- Progressive experience in a senior level financial and management position in an institution of higher education.
- Familiarity with the higher education finance or CSU system
